The world we live in is constantly on the go. It doesn't matter whether you sit at a desk all day or you are a blue collar worker, our bodies are constantly being exposed to different injuries or are doing things repeatedly that aren't natural. It's no surprise that the most common complaints in doctor's offices are low back pain. Instead of people being prescribed medications for low back pain, they are given lower back exercises.

Medications can be harmful, especially pain medication. Pain is a way for our bodies to tell us that we need to stop whatever it is that we're doing. If we don't have that important signal, we continue with our daily actions, eventually resulting in worse injuries. At the very least, we end up overdoing it and causing pains. Medications can also be addicting. Instead of helping you get through a rough time and on the road to recovery, you become addicted. You end up in worse shape than you were to begin with. Lower back exercises can help avoid some of the problems.

By just taking the time to learn the proper way of doing something, lower back problems can be avoided. Instead of bending over to pick something up, bend at your knees and lift. If something seems large to move, get help. Using lower back belts or dollies to ensure you get the job done without injuries.

If you sit at a desk all day, use a lumbar support for your lower back. Once an hour you should get up and move around. The important thing is to just get up and stretch. You'll feel more awake and alert. Taking breaks will give you a chance to get into a new position that's more natural and comfortable.

You can do many stretches with your lower back exercises. Mild stretches, held for ten to twenty seconds can really improve your flexibility. They will help keep your muscles strong and limber, allowing them to give you the strong support you need when you do something a little more strenuous than normal. They will also give you better spinal posture which, as any chiropractor in Torrance or the South Bay can tell you, it helps your whole body to function better.

Lower back exercises may reduce the amount of lower back pain you experience. In making the muscles stronger, you make your back sturdier, too. Having a strong back is a must for anyone wanting to experience excellent health.
